I always thought I wanted to be an accountant, crunch numbers day in and day out, but let me be honest, I do not know how I came to the conclusion, it was probably just my love for numbers. I convinced myself not to look at any other major other than accounting, and that became my declared major for a little over three years. I had tunnel vision until I finally accepted that I would not be failing because I wanted to change major, I was actually doing myself a disservice by sticking with it. It took me three years to convince myself to "give up" on accounting and follow the major that swept me off my feet. I took an introduction to marketing course at Rutgers University Business School and never looked back. I found the side of myself I had not seen in three years, the version of myself with drive, passion, and interest. When I switched my major it was like a flip of a switch, I was connecting what I learned in my courses, I was participating in my classes, so much so that my professors knew my name among a large group of students, and most importantly, I pictured myself working in marketing.Often I was told that my personality matched my major and that I looked so comfortable and natural speaking in front of a group of people. I have been told I am able to connect with individuals quickly, yet genuinely. I found enjoyment in selling a product, idea, or service always finding a way to connect it to someone's life no matter their demographics. I love applying my creativity to my work and collaborating with others to reach the ultimate goal. I am a focused, enthusiastic, self-starter that would love to join a team that allows room for professional development. The skills I have gained over the years, such as InDesign, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Social Media Management, and more will help me become an asset to any team.
