Data Analyst I
Current- Conducted data analysis on two projects investigating the long-term effects of COVID-19 and Gulf War Illness. - Analyzed datasets to uncover trends and insights, creating clear visualizations and reports to support research goals.- Developed visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to the team
Runaway Black Hole Research With Rit
I am currently conducting research pertaining to Recoiling Super Massive Black Holes (SMBH). Recoiling SMBHs are phenomena resulting from galaxy mergers or gravitational waves, and their identification hinges on the analysis of spectra emanating from Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). Within these spectra, distinctive features such as velocity shifts have been discerned, enabling us to discriminate recoiling SMBHs from their counterparts. Over the course of years, AGN observations have been meticulously cataloged and stored within the Sloan Digital Sky Survey database. My current research endeavor is centered on the development of a specialized program that can autonomously process spectral data to discern between recoiling SMBHs and other non-recoiling SMBHs. In essence, I am applying advanced machine learning principles to streamline the candidate selection process, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of this classification task.
Graduate Student
Graduate Teaching Assistant
-Assisted in the instruction of undergraduate physics courses, this included leading discussion sections, holding office hours, and facilitating lab sessions.- Evaluated student assignments, quizzes, and exams, ensuring fair and consistent grading practices. Provided constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding of course materials.- Oversaw laboratory activities, ensuring the safety of students and the proper use of equipment. Offered guidance on experimental techniques and data analysis
Reu Nsf University Of Washington Bothell
- Analyzed different spectra using different Python code- Discussed and worked through different issues throughout our studies- Read through various scientific literature and gathered knowledge in different areas
Research Assistant
- Contributing to Gyrochronology research to find star ages by looking at around 3000 binaries in order to gain a better understanding of the habitability of exoplanets and the galaxy’s evolution and age.- Analyze data from research conducted using programs such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, AstroImageJ and MATLAB to detect and measure physical phenomena.- Using telescopes remotely in Kitt Peak Arizona, Cerro Tololo, Chile and Canary Islands, Spain.
Reu Nsf Scholar At Rochester Institute Of Technology
- Analyzed H-Beta and Oxygen III emission lines from low redshift quasars using python code.- Used archival data of active galactic nuclei gathered from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, and reverberation mapping to find black hole mass; to findpredicted correlations between emission line strength and super-massive black hole mass.- From thousands of AGN spectra, a small significant sample was found to be good candidates to be named Super Massive Black Holes
