I work with the children and teens on the behavioral health units. I help them get IEP’s or 504 plans for school. I get collateral from their schools to help then with their treatment process while in inpatient. I also set up intake/reentry meetings for when they return to school.

As assigned by the Charge Nurse, provide assistance to patients appropriate to their age and condition, including orientation, supervision of activities and meals, transportation as assigned, 1:1 observation as assigned. Help maintain a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for patients and staff. Maintain patient, program and department documentation as necessary. As a PRN, I have worked in almost all of the units of the psychiatric hospital, gaining experience with a wide range of demographics

Running group sessions, individual sessions, and family sessions. I will be handling some of the patients cases (intake, placement, treatment plan, and discharge plan) and all of the notes for that patient.

I was responsible for the clients pets. I had to feed, walk and care for the pets. I also did over nights when the clients went out of own. When I did over nights I would watch the house, collect the newspaper, collect the mail, and care for their pet(s). I had to train some of the new sitters and how them how to be a pet sitter. Later I as the assistant office manager. I had to schedule sitters for the clients, help oversee that the clients were having their needs met, making sure the sitters were taking care of the pet(s), making phone calls, advertising, and doing intakes for new clients as well as putting them in the computer system.

As a camp counselor my role was to supervise children Pre-K thru 5th grade, primarily 2nd grade girls. My tasks were to plan activities with the kids, talk to parents, watch the kids in center and on field trips, and to open the center in the morning.
