Dr. Escandón is an accomplished intrapreneur, professor, creative facilitator, and speaker specializing in innovation, creativity, and new product development. With a strong academic background, she holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Management from the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal, Canada. She also completed her Master's degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of Lund in Sweden and studied Information Technology at the University of Monterrey in Mexico.Dr. Escandón's research interests lie at the intersection of innovation, creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about fostering collaboration and utilizing technology to generate new ideas and successfully bring them to the market.Throughout her career, Dr. Escandón has demonstrated her entrepreneurial mindset by developing and launching various programs. Currently, she serves as the Graduate Program Director for the Master of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University. Previously, she served as program coordinator for the Toy Invention course series, and coordinated the Toronto portion of the MOISAC Summer School on Management of Creativity in 2019. During her time at ÉTS, she played key roles in organizing the "International Summer School of Innovation and Technological Design" and the "Innovation et Entrepreneuriat: Entreprendre sans Idée" program. Additionally, she contributed to the organization of the global innovation competition, "Les 24 heures de l'innovation," from 2013 to 2017.Prior to her academic career, Dr. Escandón launched a startup in Monterrey, Mexico. She also taught courses on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity at Universidad Regiomontana, where she received the prestigious Teacher of Excellence award. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
