Editor In Chief
CurrentHead the magazine’s operations: *Run annual literary contest/fundraiser. *Create and implement marketing strategies that promote the magazine’s mission of championing diverse voices in literature. *Manage a team of editors, readers, and contributing writers. *Publish 3 issues per year (online and in print) including hiring designers, negotiating with printers, collaborating with editors, and determining the look and feel of each issue. *Develop and balance budgets, and support fundraising efforts. *Nominate diverse writers for prestigious literary awards. *Create, integrate, and oversee policies. Plan and execute literary events.Support and champion divorce voices in literature: *Publish the work of BIPOC, underserved, and marginalized writers. *Develop campaigns to attract diverse writers to submit their work. *Solicit work from specifically Latine writers. *Secure acclaimed BIPOC writers to serve as judges for the magazine’s annual writing competition. *Promote BIPOC writers’ work on website, social media, newsletters, and at events. *Speak at conferences on the role publishers play in DEI efforts.
