As an Infrastructure Engineer, my day-to-day responsibilities revolve around ensuring the smooth operation, security, and performance of the organization’s network and server infrastructure. I manage various hardware components, including Cisco switches, SonicWall firewalls, Ubiquiti UniFi switches, and Proxmox VPS, ensuring they are properly configured, maintained, and optimized to meet the company’s network needs.I leverage tools like Cacti, Datadog, and Grafana to monitor the health of the infrastructure, track performance metrics, and identify potential issues before they impact operations. These tools provide in-depth visibility into network traffic, system resource utilization, and uptime, allowing me to proactively address any anomalies.For network management and troubleshooting, I regularly use PuTTY to access and configure devices remotely, such as switches, firewalls, and servers, making adjustments and resolving issues in real time. Whether it’s managing network security through the SonicWall firewall or optimizing traffic flow on the Cisco and Ubiquiti devices, my role involves continuous monitoring, fine-tuning, and ensuring the stability of all network components to support business operations effectively.In addition, I collaborate closely with other IT teams, providing insights into system performance and recommending improvements or upgrades to meet the evolving needs of the organization. My daily tasks are a blend of proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and ongoing optimization to maintain a robust and secure IT infrastructure.

My job duties involve remotely troubleshooting issues with NVRs, CCTV cameras, switches, modems, etc. On a typical day, I handle several support tickets. For example, if a camera goes offline, I first ping it to see if it's reachable. If it is, I can reboot the camera remotely. However, if it's unreachable, I log into the switch and restart the POE port powering the camera to force a reboot. If the switch is also unreachable, I use the backup power monitors connected to the network to cycle power to the switch. After the camera comes back online, I check our mobile app because sometimes there are port forwarding problems. If the camera's port is not properly forwarded, I log into the modem and configure the firewall to forward the camera's port so it's accessible from outside the network. My job duties and responsibilities include network and hardware troubleshooting. For network troubleshooting, we deploy switches in every room where a client wants to rent out the office and construct a new Vlan to separate them from the other clients' IP addresses. I configure Layer 2 switches for the client side and configure our Layer 3 switch ports for uplink to the Layer 2 switch on the client side.
