Your zip code shouldn’t dictate your destiny.Growing up in a biracial family, I’ve lived at both ends of the economic spectrum. I’ve experienced and observed the stark inequities in America. Our system is not built on merit or fairness - wealth and power are king.Today, I’m part of the solution - helping close the wealth gap by paving pathways of opportunity for the next generation of diverse leaders. WHY ME?I learned to hustle from an early age. Immersed in my parent’s thriving small business, I grew to appreciate the value of enterprise. This led to earning two successive full scholarships to attend boarding school in Connecticut and business school in California. I was struck by the bold contrast between the worlds I stepped into and the world I came from. Where I’m from, most existed by the sweat of their brow, and where I went to school, many thrived off the fruits of generational wealth. I came to realize that true economic freedom isn’t just about a quality education or a stable income; it’s about access to opportunity for property ownership, investing and wealth building. And one of the biggest levers for closing the wealth gap is entrepreneurship. So, I decided to lead by example and launch an EdTech company. Through raising seed and series A funding, I developed a deep understanding of how entrepreneurs like me lack access to investment capital. This inspired me to help build a bridge between overlooked entrepreneurs and investment capital and continue paving pathways to opportunity for the next generation. If you’re a fellow change-catalyst passionate about closing the racial wealth gap, I invite you on my journey.
