As part of a 7-member Executive Team and reporting to the CEO, I led the servicing and growth of our global institutional-investor clients, ensuring that all PRI tools and solutions reached to market. By introducing a tiered, asset owner (AO) focused model I successfully contributed to mainstreaming sustainable investing with over 700 asset owners driving over US$120 trillion of AUM towards the integration of ESG (environment, social, and governance) into investment practices in over 95 markets. Under my watch:• our investor base went from 1,5k signatories to over 5k, more than doubling the global assets under management committed to sustainable investing;• fee revenue grew from £7 mil to £20+ mil;• team size grew in number (from 15 to 50);• established our global presence in 15 new cities;• signatories reported satisfaction rates of over 90%.I also effectively presented sustainable investing at public events, workshops, training, and academic courses, further facilitating the system transformation.

Due to my success with the Reporting and Assessment, I was given a broader role, leading three business functions tasked with creating all the PRI tools and solutions for our global institutional investor base. Highlights included:• the integrated production of over 50 toolkits, practical guides and events to support in the implementation of sustainable investing across different asset classes including listed equities, fixed income, private equity and inclusive finance;• the establishment of processes and procedures to align the best practices captured in PRI’s content solutions to the design of the PRI’s reporting framework, thus driving the behaviour of thousands of clients towards more advanced sustainable practices;• the broadening of scope and ambitions of PRI coordinated engagements with companies on ESG issues such as anti-corruption, climate change, human rights, and director nominations on behalf of investors representing trillions of assets under management, thus driving corporate change.

As employee number eight at PRI, reporting into the CEO/Founder, I developed, grew, and oversaw the first ever global Responsible Investment Reporting and Assessment framework, setting the industry best practice, and driving behavioural change for thousands of institutional investors. In particular, the PRI was able to upscale from 300 to c1,500 clients and drive its mission as I:• defined sustainable investment best practices (by investor type and by asset classes) that have become the basis for sustainable investment practices worldwide;• facilitated multiple open consultations with clients and other industry stakeholders, driving consensus while striving for change;• assured transparency and delivered advice to the growing number of clients by steering the design and management of a proprietary online reporting and data collection tool.

Reporting into the Head of Central and Eastern Europe Retail Business and the UniCredit Foundation, I was brought into shape and implemented the overall UniCredit Group’s micro-finance strategy. As part of this cross-businesses responsibility, I:• promoted microfinance understanding across multiple functions in an organization of over 100k staff;• drove the first institutional investor contribution to a €80m microfinance securitisation solution by an Italian Asset Management player, Pioneer Investments;• implemented a €6m Italian government-funded microfinance project in the Balkans, primarily Bulgaria.

Working as an independent consultant for international development agencies and specialised rating agencies, I developed research studies and evaluation in the microfinance and inclusive finance field. The projects I delivered included:• the cost / benefits analysis of the US$7 million World Bank project “Access to Financial Services”, which included reviewing the effects of greater penetration of financial services in Central America;• advisory services for the Federation of Bosnia Herzegovina and the Republica Srpska on regulations and supervision policies for saving & credit associations as part of a UN/IFAD project;• co-authoring “Finance of Microfinance”, the 2004 Annual Report on microfinance in Latin America which highlighted industry trends through a detailed analysis of 30 institutions which together provided cUS$1 billion in profitable microfinance lending.

As employee number three, I contributed to and implemented the microfinance institutions rating methodology of a start-up specialized microfinance rating agency, contributing to a more sustainable industrywide approach to funding lower income entrepreneurs.I supported the success of the business by:• leading and / or participating in the first 30 MicroRate field evaluations and ratings of microfinance institutions (MFIs) in emerging markets for development organizations (World Bank, IDB) and for private investment funds in Latin America and Africa;• co-designing the proprietary tools and methodology used in MicroRate’s ratings and managed the design of MicroRate’s database management and rating software;• driving capital allocation to microfinance by offering transparency to the sector and the underlying institutions, protecting the sector both from grant-making institutions disguising as financial services as well as from aggressive payday lenders pretending to be socially conscious.

Acting as a team of 20, reporting into the Research Team Manager, I was responsible for analyzing inter-company pricing policies for multinationals, to ensure compliance with domestic and international tax transfer pricing regulations. Highlights of my main achievements:• produced the necessary benchmark for over 30 clients across multiple sectors and jurisdictions;• enhanced the proprietary tools used to benchmark clients;• designed and delivered the training program for new analysts.
