I hold a BA in Journalism from the Universidad Católica of Chile (1995), worked in TV and public relations for a decade in my home country, and then traveled to the US to pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker. In 2005 I obtained an MFA in Video & Film Production at The University of Texas at Austin and later completed the Professional Screenwriting Program at The University of California at Los Angeles (2009). During my studies, I earned the Warren Skaaren Presidential Scholarship for excellence in screenwriting, participated in the First Latino Writers Workshop organized by the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, and received a grant from the Texas Filmmaker Production Fund. Back in Chile, I have been a recipient of the Fondos de Cultura awards in 2009, 2010, 2016, 2018, and 2023. Currently, I work as a member of the screenwriting team at Calibre 71, a local production company, which debuted in 2020 with “Jailbreak Pact”, a feature film distributed by 20th Century Fox and now available on Amazon Prime Video. Since July 2019 I have had the pleasure to be Visiting Professor at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. During 2020 I had the opportunity to participate as a collaborating writer in an action trilogy, "Sayen" produced by Fábula Producciones for Amazon Studios, recently release on this platform. My time at present is devoted to "Viento Blanco", the next feature film by Calibre 71, also for Amazon Studios.
