Provide support for grant and fundraising proposal development and execution functions for the South Bend-Elkhart (SBE) Campus. Perform research to identify, develop, and respond to grant opportunities; support the development of grant proposals to private, state, regional and federal funding sources; and helps foster a culture of grants and philanthropy at Ivy Tech through strategic planning and collaboration with SBE faculty/staff and the Ivy Tech Foundation Grants Office.

Assist in facilitating the grant writing process between Grant Writer, Grant Applicant/Client, QC staff and Vendor (if applicable.) Perform multiple content reviews of draft application proposals (narrative, budget and budget narrative), providing feedback to grant writer to ensure 100% compliancy with the grant program’s Request for Proposal, Evaluation Criteria, Policies and Procedures and executed contract with applicant/client. Was responsible for the overall coordination and management of three consecutive grant funded YouthBuild projects: Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2005, Department of Labor (DOL) 2007 and 2009; as well as the continued oversight of projects arising from the HUD Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) grant. Primary responsibilities included personnel management; program management, financial planning and management, marketing and public relations, in addition to all grant writing, grant compliance, and all associated reporting.

Program oversight of the HUD funded Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) encompassing personnel management, coordination of faculty, staff, and partner institutions; specifically related to the 13 projects generated by MSU’s COPC initiative focusing on the following target areas: economic development, entrepreneurship and small business assistance, the environment, adult literacy, and housing quality. Also responsible for all grant writing, reporting and compliance issues relative to each of the original projects as well as subsequent projects.

Facilitated the Introduction to Sociology (SOC 101) at the Licking Valley extended campus (Cynthiana, KY) and at the main campus (Maysville, KY).

Provided technical assistance to various community coalitions and groups interested in providing substance abuse prevention services. Engaged in grant writing activities to assist community groups in the implementation of prevention programs. Assisted with needs assessment activities relative to substance use to help guide program implementation and helped to evaluate program outcomes to determine which programs/projects were most effective. Facilitated various substance abuse workshops and seminars as well as conference and event planning activities. Completed credentialing process for designation of Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) in October 2001.

Was responsible for staff training and development for treatment and administrative staff at a residential youth treatment facility serving over one hundred youth ages 13-18.
