I am currently employed by Skill Hire as their Principal Indigenous Consultant. I manage Skill Hire's Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) and Indigenous Remote Service Delivery Traineeship (IRSDT) Contracts. I also compose submissions for funding; provide support and advice to Executive Stream Managers and Job Services Managers.I currently manage 87 Indigenous Trainees and Apprentices from the Kununurra in the North to Esperance in the South. I travel to all Skill Hire's business throughout WA and promote Skill Hire's Indigenous Strategies. I provide course content and materials for cross cultural training. As of the 1st of January, 2008 I was formerly appointed Indigenous Work Ready - Training and Development Coordinator. I also performed duties as Processing and Recruitment Consultant for both IWR and QFS Australia. My duties included training IWR candidates, mentoring, processing, recruitment and developing individual training programs for the candidates. I conducted all Psychometric testing of both Q Test and the Vienna Motor Skills test. I consulted with industry and clients on requirements the training needs of their operators.

I was employed as a Contract Training Consultant on various mine sites throughout Western Australia. I conducted site assessments on various heavy machinery, I would complete an end of audit report on each candidate, which would then be presented to the employing company for further changes to Production, regarding safety and efficiency of their operators.

My role includes but not limited to development, delivery, and retention strategies, Travel to sites to provide formal on-going mentoring support to candidates. Provide course content and materials for cross cultural training. Recruitment and retention of all Aboriginal candidates. Facilitating of all Aboriginal programs, Provide advice and guidance to Project Managers and Supervisors in managing Aboriginal employees in a culturally acceptable manner.

My position was Training Coordinator. I was involved in planning, scheduling and developing training. Construction of the site training matrix, skills and gap analysis on all the Metalliferous Mining Trainees. Annual budgets and costing of the Training Department. I completed the ISO9001 Audit for the Training Department. My position also entailed conducting the Site Safety Induction for the Safety Department. My everyday concerns were planning, scheduling and booking of both on site and off site training. Completing essential course lists and construction of new course information for the Training Database.

Ernest Henry Mine, Cloncurry, QldMy position was Contract Assessor. I had the task of re-assessing 80 trainees that had been employed by the mine in a 12 month period. The trainees were reviewed on safety procedures, practical assessment and general competency as operators. Tyre awareness was a very important category as well as emergency simulation. A full report was written by myself on the trainees abilities as an operator and how safely they operated their machines. The reports were then acknowledged by the Mine Superintendent, Shift Supervisors and the Training Coordinator. It was an extremely challenging yet rewarding Contract.

I was employed as an Operator/Assessor, most of my time was spent training and assessing operators. After 2 years service with REJV the company placed me in the Training Department, I excelled in this position. I learnt about safety procedures, quality assurance, training audits and training documentation. My knowledge extended to planning of competency matrixes, coordinating training schedules and programming of the Immersive Technology Simulator.
