Please feel free to reach out for commercial license use.I started Sand Dollar Girl during the pandemic selling face masks, like so many. The pandemic changed our lives, and for me, for the better. What a great reminder to slow down. After moving from Santa Barbara/Ventura up to beautiful Humboldt County on the Northern California coast, I spent most every day walking our many beaches. A large number of Dendastar Excentricus sand dollar tests wash ashore here, especially after storms and earthquakes. It was a natural transition to move away from masks and into beach finds. I absolutely love sharing the beach with those who love it as much as I do. Of course, I couldn't help but take photos of our beautiful skies, the birds, and the beach as well. I took my first photography class in 1975. As a challenge to myself, I started with an old Kodak B/W camera and developed the film in the high school dark room. I was hooked!Many years later, I now shoot with a Sony a7rIV and develop in Lightroom. I still challenge myself to take the best shot while out in the field, instead of worrying about a lot of post-production. Most of my edits are very minor. So here we are in 2023 and I thought it was time to share all of my beach treasures, including my photography. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
