I currently work as the Safety Manager for Mike Zarp, Inc, an excavation contractor who has been in the industry for over 30. My duties include weekly site observations where not only do I report on the overall safety of the jobsite, but I also observe our Operators, but hold safety meetings. Outside of the field, I am responsible for producing all safety project start-up documentation, as well as manage our employee's safety records and certifications. When I started in the role, there was a need for a more efficient safety manager system in order to better track our field's safety paperwork. To solve this, I implemented Procore which the company now uses on a daily basis. I, along with the Field Superintendent, set up all the required modules, and rolled it out to the field within only a couple of months.
