With over 20 years of experience in the forensic laboratory industry, Lori Knops is a seasoned professional with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. In her current position as National Account Manager within NMS Labs' Forensic Business Unit (Drug Chemistry), Lori is responsible for new business acquisitions, managing client accounts and contracts, and providing forensic testing solutions to both the public and private sectors. She also assists with RFP/RFQ responses and manages forensic drug testing accounts nationally.Prior to joining NMS Labs, Lori held technical positions at three governmental forensic laboratories, including the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory, North Carolina State Crime Laboratory (formerly NC SBI), and Iredell County Sheriff's Office Crime Laboratory. She has worked in various capacities including Drug Chemist, Toxicology Technical Lead, and Quality Assurance Officer.Lori was a sworn Special Agent for the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, where she served as a Lead Chemist responding to state-wide clandestine methamphetamine laboratories. In this role, she assisted with site safety, dismantling, investigations, sampling, and analytical testing, reporting, and expert witness testimony.Lori graduated from The University of North Carolina, Asheville with a B.S. in Chemistry and is professionally certified with the American Board of Criminalistics (Drug Analysis). She is also licensed by the Texas Forensic Science Commission as a Forensic Analyst. Currently, Lori is enrolled in the accelerated MBA program at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke, where she is concentrating in Business Analytics. In her free time, Lori enjoys hiking and spending time with her family.
