 Managed team to develop and implement the FDA program at the Wickliffe Mill. Compliance certification was achieved ahead of a very aggressive schedule completing a complex, assigned project. This implementation included leading the food safety team; developing and maintaining the necessary documentation and controls; performing audits; implementing new policies and procedures; acting as the mill interface with the consultant, other mills and operating departments within the mill; and preparing presentations for management reviews.  Developed and delivered training for all current and new employees on the FDA regulations and compliance programs. During the implementation, became proficient in FDA auditing procedures, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points)  After the compliance certification was completed, provided ongoing leadership and maintenance for the FDA program.

 Mentored and lead process improvement projects that generated over $1.2 million of savings for the mill. The scope of these improvement projects included raw material usage reductions, maintenance procedures, shipping/loading changes, transaction and procedure enhancements, safety, and new business opportunities. Served as interface with operations personnel to organize and complete projects. Earned Black Belt Certification in June 2014 Qualified in the RLSS (Rapid Lean Six Sigma), 5S, DOE (Design of Experiment) and TapRoot RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) methodologies. Extensive use of data from PI, Proficy, SAP and other sources to drive improvement. Developed and delivered mill training for:o Lean Six Sigma Awareness (Yellow Belt) for New Employees o 5S Training for LSS Teamso Accident Investigations using LSS tools at Safety University Led and participated in the Wickliffe Mill Administrative Safety Group.

 Provided cost accounting and analytical finance support for the mill.  Prepared yearly budgets and performed monthly reconciliation. Responsible for accurate and complete month end and ad hoc reporting.  Acted as the mill interface to perform the necessary corporate reporting. Responsible for maintaining accurate historical production and financial records. Developed systems to improve departmental procedures including the month end closing process, maintenance reporting, and other finance and accounting reporting requirements. This saved approximately four to six hours per monthly close cycle. Provided finance and accounting support to the mill’s LSS effort. Extensive use of SAP to provide financial analysis and accounting support.
