Provide financial, operational, and programmatic support directing and overseeing the departments of accounting & finance, human resources, membership, information technology and office management. Work with the executive leadership team on strategy and operations related to budget and financial management, cost benefit analysis, and forecasting. In second year of employment, migrated accounting system from 4 sets of books for 3 companies in QuickBooks to an efficient system with NetSuite, allowing the 3 companies to be reported on individually and consolidated and integrating operational systems into the accounting software.

Supervise the activities of a seven staff member finance department consisting of accounts payable, payroll, human resources, insurance, and bookkeeping. Maintain fiscal controls for the accounting of over $19 million in grant funds annually, over $350 million during my years of service. Develop budgets and budget narratives for multiple grant programs for submission with grant applications. Prepare and analyze management reports (budget versus actual expenditure reports) prepared for the Board of Directors and program directors. Prepare and submit financial reports to the federal government as required for each grant award. Signatory on corporate bank accounts.Review and analyze monthly financial reports for individual funds and on a consolidated basis for the entity. Discuss financial status of funds with program directors and management.Imposed more exacting documentation requirements and guidelines to ensure greater fiscal control and fraud prevention.In first 2 years, developed and implemented processes in order to eliminate unnecessary steps taken by finance staff thereby increasing staff efficiency, including the creation and implementation of a computerized accounting network using Great Plains Dynamics software (currently named Microsoft Dynamics GP).In first year, developed and implemented a system of storing non-current financial documentation as required by OMB Circular A-133.Developed and distributed an accounting policies and procedures manual, updated as necessary.In last 2 years, researched, evaluated, and purchased subscription to GreenShades.com which is an online employee timesheet and payroll record system to automate the payroll processing system. In last year, set up system to pay vendors with EFT (electronic funds transfers) instead of by company check. Currently working to set up payment to vendors via corporate credit card program in order to generate non-discretionary funds for the organization.

Performed audits of financial statements for corporate clients in a variety of industries. Prepared tax/information returns for the same.
