I am passionate about working with children and guiding them down their road to success. Celebrating their small victories and nurturing them through the daily struggles that they face in and outside of the classroom. It is a challenging role and it isn't always an easy one. But, unlike my previous role as a Corporate Paralegal, there are opportunities within this role to channel my creative spirit. As a Guest Teacher for Kokua Education, y I am continuing on my journey and preparing for the next step on my own personal road to success. Although I am not actively pursuing a career as a paralegal, I still use a lot of those skills in this new environment which is less stressful and much more rewarding. I am still passionate about the Arts both as a Performer and Fine Artist.

ParalegalAurora Bank Mar 2009 - Sep 2011Contested Default ResolutionAs a Contested Default Resolution Paralegal for Aurora Bank FSB, I carried a case load between 260 - 460 files which consisted mainly of Title claims, Contested foreclosures and HOA matters. I would work with designated Foreclosure counsel in getting necessary documents for discovery requests, approvals for settlement agreements and signatures for Verified Complaints. My daily duties included monitoring the Fidelity HOA queue looking for Notices of Default in all superlien states, monitoring title claim filters in LPS, working with foreclosure counsel on any contested matters and opening files in Lawbase and tasks in Fidelity/MSP. I was also responsible for approving invoices using the New Invoice application. This position involved heavy multi-tasking and adherence to foreclosure timelines. It was my responsibility to ensure that all contested matters were handled in a timely manner and within compliance with the foreclosure timeline. I was also responsible for deciding if either the title defect or contested matter was serious enough to require our foreclosure department to place the foreclosure on hold until resolution.
