Lori Smith is a Fish Health and Welfare Manager at Scottish Sea Farms. Colleagues describe her as "Lori joined SAIC's online summer intern programme and entered into all the activities with gusto. She demonstrated a high level of initiative and exuded an air of quiet self-confidence which I found impressive in a third year undergrad. Undaunted by meeting new people, and eager to learn, Lori took up every suggestion on how to build her network, not just in Shetland but across Scottish aquaculture. The video she made about career opportunities in Shetland is first class, as you will see when you watch it. Lori displays all the signs of someone with a plan in mind for her career, and the drive, determination and humility to get there, harnessing the support of others around her. I am sure she will do well, and I look forward to watching her blossoming career in aquaculture on Shetland after graduation." and "Lori took part in SAIC’s 10-week intern programme 2020, the first internship to take place entirely online. Lori was not daunted by this at all and displayed maturity, professionalism and genuine enthusiasm throughout the 10-week programme. Her video aimed to highlight the significance of the industry in Shetland and with a range of different industry speakers, excellent footage and examples of the variety of career opportunities, she certainly hit the mark. The interns' final presentation to our stakeholders was one of the most professional I've ever taken part in and both the interns' personal presentations and their videos were so well received by the attendees.
