Prior to becoming a technical writer, Lori was an early childhood educator, where her focus was on creating equitable and culturally relevant learning environments. She then moved into ed tech, instructional design, and equity-centered pedagogy to expand her DEI and culturally relevant teaching practices to higher education. Born and raised in California, she grew up in a multi-racial family with roots in Mexican American, Eastern European, and Russian ancestry. She spent most of her writing career in the technology field as a technical writer consultant for Microsoft, Amazon, Hewlett Packard, and Credit Karma. She received a Bachelor's of Science from UW in Technical Communications. She's completed both a Master's in Education and a Ph.D. in Leadership, Policy, and Change enabling her to expand her reach to areas including strategic planning, entrepreneurship, organizational change management, and educational mentoring and coaching.
