I have eleven years of teaching experience. Currently I am teaching sixth grade English Language Arts. In the past I have also taught second, fourth, and fifth grades. After graduating with my Bachelor's I moved to Las Vegas to teach. I was able to work with many students that moved from other countries. My class sizes were very large and I had to be flexible. In Milwaukee, WI I taught at a school that had 99% African American students. The challenge there was to try to meet their specific needs. Many came from low income families and/or they dealt with extreme situations outside of school. Middle school has always been the age group that I love to teach. For the past three years I have been teaching the subject I love (Language Arts) to sixth graders. I have experience developing curriculum with our ELA department and continually work with our Professional Learning Community to provide students with the best experience in school.
