I received an Honors Degree in Psychology and I have been working with individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges as well as physical challenges ever since, for 30 years. I take my position of advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves very seriously. Mental health is one of the most important parts of today's society and we must be very diligent to ensure positive outcomes for all. For individuals with disabilities, this is even more important as they cannot always express their feelings, moods, triggers and behaviours. It is our duty, when working in this field, to ensure a safe, positive and welcoming environment where people feel comfortable with those who work for them. After 30 years in this field my passion to help people has never wavered.
