I rescued two spinal-injury dachshunds from this small foster home-based rescue group in 2006 and have since become a volunteer, donator, fundraiser and trainer. Fostered and trained several dogs, researched grants and generated fundraising ideas. Co-organized several events, including Macy's "Shop for a Cause" in October 2009, which raised $2,500.

Once certified through the TDI program, my dogs and I visited patients at various assisted living facilities and at the Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital. In addition, we are inaugural members of the Tail Waggin' Tutors program at the Boca Raton Children's Library. Tail Waggin' Tutors is a program where young children read to dogs to improve their comprehension and comfort around animals. We are a co-founding member of the local chapter "Paws for Love."

During an 18 month period, I volunteered as dog walker and cat socializer. I am a strong advocate for rescue. I donated blankets, money and other items to the shelter and thrift store.

During a two year period, I volunteered as dog walker, cat socializer and assisted with adoptions. I answered visitor questions, clicker trained shelter dogs and worked to get PricewaterhouseCoopers (my employer at the time) to designate GMHS as its charity of the month for February 2004.
