Educating the youth of the River Valley School District has been a passion of mine for 34 years. My teaching assignments as a business educator have spanned the globe over the years, but the thrill of each new year remains the same. Following seven years of serving the middle level student at the River Valley Junior High School, I developed an elementary computer and keyboarding curriculum for grades 2-5. Seeing the huge demand for technology in our schools, the addition of this curricula at the elementary level was invaluable. My elementary students transitioned to the middle school with excellent keyboarding skills and basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Their presentation skills continued to improve as did their file management skills. After working with our youngest learners for 20 years, I transitioned to also teaching our oldest learners at the River Valley High School. Continuing to update the high school curriculum over the past seven years has been a challenge, but one I have embraced. Students have the opportunity to take college level business application classes while at RVHS. Digital marketing curriculum has been implemented for students. Entrepreneurial skills are also developed.My classroom management skills are second to none. Treating all students with the utmost respect no matter their age, sex, race, socio-economic background, etc. I have always had one rule that I share with my new students each year...You respect me and I'll respect you. It has worked well.Taking sports photographs for the local newspaper in River Valley has been a favorite past time of mine for 12 years. Creating sports collages, pins, banners, and posters has taken a lot of my spare time as well.I enjoy the outdoors, walking, hiking, fishing, boating. Sports have always been a part of my life whether playing (golf) or watching (football, volleyball, golf, baseball, basketball). You can often find me at the nearest TV where ever I am watching Badger, Packer, and/or Brewer games.
