I began making and decoration cakes for a bakery in Iowa after high school in 1981. I continued making wedding cakes for a small bridal shop after moving to Arizona in 1983 and while attending ASU. I finally let go of the cake thing during my college career in order to focus on my education, then began preparing for a career in the fire service after graduation. In 1994 I became a Certified Emergency Paramedic while working for the Casa Grande and Gilbert Fire Departments. In August of 1995 I began working for the Mesa Fire Department. I am now an Engineer-Paramedic on a ladder truck for Mesa and will be eligible to retire in January of 2015.In 2003 I began roasting coffee as a hobby, and in 2007 bought a small commercial roaster to increase my production capability and provide coffee to friends, family, and co-workers. I have since moved the roaster to the Kitchen Co-Op in Prescott where I can roast coffee and make wedding cakes among other delectable gluten free items.
