As a Curriculum & Instruction Technology Specialist, I analyze instructional needs and develop training programs based on those needs. I have delivered Schoology training to Master Instructors, as well as designed, developed, and produced Schoology courseware, and support materials for our district. Since the inception of our new LMS back in January, I have been the System Administrator for Schoology. Part of my of my job duties include coordinating, evaluating, and providing follow up for training of trainers for teacher training programs. I also consult with faculties and supervisory staffs in design and implementation of in-service programs, identification of resources, budget preparation, and evaluation. Another opportunity to serve in the department is to coordinate the operation of in-service teacher education programs by arranging for trainers, facilitators, supplies, materials, and equipment, which includes the collection of In-service Participation Record forms from all persons conducting in-service training education programs.

I have worked in the field of technology teaching both staff and students since 1998. I enjoy learning new information involving technology and sharing it with others. I’ve attended FETC and find it extremely rewarding to share the many new technology techniques and ideas learned through this wonderful opportunity. My entire Master’s Degree was done on line through USF using Canvas, so I am very familiar with this LMS. I am also extremely comfortable with web tools such as Office 365, Edline, Google, Prezi, and Weebly. I also assist teachers with many technology programs, such as an electronic lesson plan book, Planbookedu.com, collaborating with their teacher websites, SchoolPage and EdLine, as well as power points and excel spreadsheets. I trouble shoot technology issues and concerns to assist the teachers when they are having a challenge or question about their computer, printer, projector or document camera.During the past 16 years I have taught students computer basics in a lab setting for kindergarten through fifth grade. They learned parts of the commuter and how to do basic computer keyboarding skills to complicated powerpoint presentations. I worked with iPads for an entire grade level where they learned how to create their own trailer and iMovie. Daily, I facilitate a morning news program in studio teaching students how to operate video and sound equipment as well as computers that double as a teleprompter.
