Ally Theatre Company produces theatre designed to engage audiences through acknowledging and confronting systemic oppression in America. -Placing underrepresented populations at the front and center of our narratives and our organization; -Forming alliances with individuals and organizations who share a similar mission; -Producing new theatrical works making their world, national, or local premieres; and-Tackling existing theatrical works that forward the conversation. ​In doing so, we hope to play a small part in creating the space and opportunity needed to form new traditions and conversations, while steadily inching toward the eradication of systemic violence, prejudice, and racism in our society.

Voices Unbarred centers the voices of people impacted by incarceration, and collaborates with theatre practitioners and policy organizations, to creatively reimagine the prison system and advocate for change. Through theatre and justice workshops, script writing, and interactive performances, participants affected by incarceration in the DC area are given a platform to share their stories, tackle complex issues, and lead the criminal justice reform movement. Voices Unbarred is the main programming of Ally Theatre Company.

Teach middle and high school students the art of playwriting, emphasizing their unique voices and stories. The 12-session program culminates in each student writing an original play and having it performed by professional actors.

Use my background in theatre to infuse Reach's literacy curriculum with creative and engaging activities, write new curriculum, adapt Readers Theatre scripts from teen-written children's books, create training videos for Program Instructors, plan and lead tutor outings, and lead a Theatre of the Oppressed workshop during the summer program.

I worked with high school students let down by the system and guided them in creating lesson plans grounded in the core components of literacy development. I then oversaw them as they brought their lesson plans to elementary school students in need of support. Together, we developed confident readers and capable leaders in DC.

Assist with the Candidacy and Mobility processes. Responsibilities include: filing, scanning and uploading paper files to computer files, keeping files current and organized, helping to design a new database, following up on missing documents, scheduling, and creating new organization systems for the office

I collaboratively developed and taught both pre-show workshops and playwriting residencies in schools throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana. I was the primary writer of the preshow workshops for "True West" and "Girlfriend." I also spearheaded contacting and scheduling over 55 schools for the first workshops of the season. I was able to co-create an interview-based community project with fellow interns that culminated in a final performance exploring how the Louisville community sees itself creatively. I evaluated New Voices contest submissions and directed "Paper or Plastic" in the New Voices Young Playwrights Festival. I helped organize College Days weekend and the lobby displays during the 37th annual Humana Festival.

I provided assistance with line understanding, artistic teams, human relations activities, discussions, and warm-ups to inner-city youth. I also taught Step pieces to the dance artistic team and helped them choreograph a performance piece to be included in the final production of their play.
