Provided leadership and management for all grant-funded highway safety behavioralprograms across Virginia. Responsible for the development and implementation of programmatic strategies, through the application, implementation, monitoring and evaluation process for 325-400 grants per year under an annual budget of approximately $18 million. Managed 13 staff members, focused either programmatically or regionally. Improved relationships between grantees and the Highway Safety Office, increased objectivity and consistency in the application and award process, and continuously worked to improve efficiency and effectiveness of grant project outcomes.

Provided human factors expertise as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Duties included investigating motor vehicle crashes, collecting and analyzing data; writing reports, and presenting findings to various public groups and agencies. Performed all human resources functions for a small manufacturing company. Responsibilities included organizational and policy development, recruitment and selection, training and counseling, severance, administration of programs in benefits, wage and salary, and performance evaluation. As part of the corporate leadership team, helped guide the company through an ownership change with organizational restructuring and implemented new retirement programs.
