As the people and human resources lead at Cerus, I oversee the Human Resources, Facilities, and IT functions at the company in partnership with a dedicated team of professionals. In this role, I am also a member of the company’s executive leadership team and am currently a member of Cerus’ COVID-19 Task Force. I am exceptionally proud to be a part of our company’s growth and efforts to scale in the dynamic MedTech space over the last two decades. This includes our growth from 160 to 260 employees over the last 5 years. As a part of my role, I led the creation of a competency-based recruitment process that is still in use today. In 2006, I was fortunate enough to establish an HR presence at our European subsidiary. On the people side, we have always placed a premium on diverse teams, so am honored to see the steady growth of women in leadership roles across the company and our long-standing commitment to inclusion-based hiring practices. In my Facilities role, I have led Cerus’ expansion from 10,000 sq. ft. of laboratory and office space to over 80,000 sq. ft. including our relocation in 2019 to our new lab and office location which has allowed all of our Concord-based employees to co-locate.Why have I stayed at Cerus for so long? I get asked this question a lot and I regularly tell candidates and employees that it is because of the teams I have blessed to work with over all these years. My colleagues are awesome, and I cannot imagine working with a humbler and more passionate group of leaders. The added bonus is that I am part of a team working on a product that improving the safety of blood components.I started my career as a CPA for Ernst Young and served as a Controller for two other companies before joining Cerus in 1992.
