• Provides direct leadership of all technology for MEFA – including all IT Security, information systems, programs, infrastructure, and information technology staff.• Oversees MEFA’s total technology spend, including staffing, external resource use, hardware, software, maintenance, etc., ensuring proper planning, documentation, and financial considerations. Oversight of the annual technology and system project planning processes for MEFA, ensuring close partnership and collaboration with business unit plans, and long-term strategies.• Ensures efficiency, effectiveness, and viability of all IT systems and tech processes• Leads execution of technology strategies, including developing scalable processes that deliver the financial, cost, quality, safety, staffing, and service levels required to meet business objectives and customer expectations while ensuring financial strength and operating effectiveness.

Plan, coordinate, direct and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support of IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. Management Oversaw administration and continued refinement of entire loan portfolio. Primary liaison with originator, servicer, customer service call center providers and fulfillment processing center. Facilitated meetings, led, cultivated and developed relationships with external partners and direct staff. Provided strategies for improvement and managed expectations. Oversight over three different call centers focusing on relationship building at management level ensuring superior customer service and loan processing. Development Manage all product creation, enhancements and implementation from beginning to end. Major accomplishments include: An e-signature process for MEFA Loan applicants Multiple loan programs Secure borrower login process ensuring compliance with privacy laws. FFELP processes and ultimate wind down of FFELP with minimal impact to our borrowers and school-partners Training development and implementation of all loan related procedures Enhancements to school administrator certification process simplifying processCompliance Responsible for oversight on all loan related compliance and regulatory issues. Interpret regulations and develop/implement guidelines Collaborate with legal teams on all loan related matters, contract negotiations and regulation interpretation and implementation.Expansion/Retention Develop customer satisfaction surveys and implement improved processes and service based on customer and school partner feedback. Coordinated production of dynamic, online customized marketing brochure for potential borrowers. Reporting Create and analyze reports in both Access and Excel environment to demonstrate trends, issues and ultimately solutions.

Part of the senior management team charged with developing strategic plans for the office. Assisted Executive Director in administration of an institutional expenditure budget of $172M. Established and monitored office operational budget in excess of $250,000. Oversaw all compliance and regulatory issues at both graduate and undergraduate level, including all audits, reconciliation of all federal and state funds, and completion of the FISAP and Federal Program Participation Agreement. Assisted in resolution of aged credits and return of Title IV funds. Provided leadership in implementation of the Common Origination and Disbursement system. Represented the University at various professional and institutional functions (including extensive public speaking).Supervised staff of up to seven full-time employees who managed all graduate and undergraduate loan related activities, including Direct Lending, private loan certification, Perkins Loans and Massachusetts No Interest Loans as well as Entrance/Exit counseling and compliance training and monitoring for graduate aid personnel.
