I’m the kind of person who sets a list of goals for my daily achievements and loves celebrating the wins when that plan succeeds. Work is the next place besides home we’re spending most of our time so environment means everything. Currently working in finance on the A/R side of things along with being the first line of contact for the office but my personality is perfect for both people and numbers. My history is built with a background founded on making money from the time I was old enough to babysit through my retail years in highschool. That involved transitioning into internal bookkeeping in my retail career as I finished high school and was available full time. When life changes for my boss and his wife meant them closing the store and going their separate ways it left us all losing our jobs and seeking new employment. I leaped into the manufacturing industry on a journey from factory floor through all departments, on to marketing support and then on to sales before making the move to finance in the municipal world. Throw in raising four kids single-handedly and add a 10 year home-based business on the side into the mix and you’ll have learned that I don’t shy away from hard work, keeping busy and moving forward. On a personal level I am quite the comedian but I also appreciate my space and time just to be still and reflect which I can achieve perfectly from the seat of my kayak as I paddle those peaceful waters or from the seat of my car on “go get lost in the country tour” which anyone knows can’t actually get you lost because eventually with enough turns there’s always gonna be a paved road somewhere. Sitting shotgun on some but not all of those drives will be one or both of my large faithful dogs, Oscar & Coco. Two quotes I have had posted at my desk are 1) “Everything is figureoutable” and 2) in the words of Bryan Adams “Ain’t no use in complaining when you got a job to do “. Life is what you make it but if you aren’t willing to put in the work, invest in others, remember to take care of yourself and find gratitude in the small things, you’ll be missing the point.
