About Lori Ann Larocco
I am the founder and president of Embracing Your Past to Empower Your Future, a non-profit organization that published a book about the stories of four families descended from slaves ALL author royalties go to a book stipend for their college-bound descendants. I wear two hats at CNBC: I am the senior editor of guests, business news at CNBC, where I coordinate guest coverage and special remote events for all shows on the network as well as the global logistics reporter. I have been covering the world of trade and logistics for years with my books and columns. I dive into the world of maritime and logistics as the global supply chain correspondent for Captain. For several years I wrote about maritime and logistics for FreightWaves. I am also the author of "Trade War Containers Don't Lie", a best-selling book that reveals the true status of global trade through the lens of maritime transport and several other books including the award-winning book, "Embracing Your Past to Empower Your Future" where ALL royalties go to the Each One, Teach One book stipend.I have more than two decades of experience in covering the shipping industry, and I am passionate about educating the public about the importance and impact of trade flows. I am also a proud alumna of SUNY Plattsburgh, where I graduated with a BA in mass media communications and broadcast journalism. I received the Distinguished Visiting Alumni Award in 2010, and I am a board member of the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation.
