In addition, communicative and interpersonal issues were addressed. The self-contained program, addressed the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Grades Pre K - 6) in a public school setting affording the opportunity for inclusion and integration with their typically developing peers. The program reflected a philosophy which promoted a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory approach and unified team approach within the classroom environment. Project ASPIRES advanced the aspiration of educators and parents to work together as a team in a unified approach to learning both in school and in the community, during the school year and throughout the summer in an extended school year.
