About Lori Falchi

As an educational leader in inclusive, multilingual educational settings, I build educators' awareness and understanding of key concepts and practices across developmental progressions from early childhood through childhood and adolescence in education. I am deeply committed to social justice, equity, and culturally responsive practice. As a researcher, I explore how young children develop and learn language and content area practices using participatory and qualitative methods. I collaborate with educators to investigate and enhance young children’s participation, access, and agency as learners. In my role as a coach and consultant, I work alongside educators using reflective practices as a foundational process to assess and address strengths and needs that relate to research, policy, and practice. My focus is on coaching and mentorship as professional learning. I facilitate progress on goals to improve conditions for learning for emergent bilinguals and children with disabilities in collaborative partnerships. I design professional learning opportunities in organizations that partner with families in urban education to provide culturally relevant support fo learners, primarily in community-based programs and public schools.Additionally, I collaborate and write about research and practice that centering young children and their play.
