About Lori Farley

Neither impact, nor *innovation*, happen in isolation. As a connector and collaborator, I regard the economy as servant to humanity. I encourage & enhance disruptive & innovative ideas and I do my best promotes next practices that activate, amplify & champion cross-sector social innovation, and socio-economic development. Personally, I work operates at the intersection of five pillars: Community Development, Arts, Disability & Inclusion, Education & Entrepreneurship, and Technology (CADET). In 2015, I co-founded both INTONOVUS Canada, and Impact Calgary, to focus on Business Model Innovation embedding social and environmental priorities into businesses as they develop. GoodMob helps small independent business owners & not for profits via a unique way to reach & engage their customers, members & donors, while supporting local business & community development at the same time. The idea behind GoodMob is ‘shopping with purpose’ or ‘experiential crowdfunding.’ Modest spending by a large number of customers has the ability to create a big impact in a short amount of time. The profits from each GoodMob are intended to be invested back into the development of the business. Each business that we GoodMob pledges to redirected a percentage of the dollars from the sales of the GoodMob to a local not for profit, charity, or civic group to better the work they do in the community. These groups provide volunteers & customers to the GoodMob through their network of stakeholders & supporters. After each GoodMob event, the Mobsters re-convene at another nearby local independent establishment to meet one another as a 'shared experience' of community over a bite to each, a drink, or coffee. Everyone can peek in each other’s bags, talk about their GoodMob experience(s) & get to know each other to build a sense of community & neighbourhood. This establishment also commits to donate a portion of the proceeds of the social to the charity (or a charity, nonprofit, or civic groups of their choice). Show less
