EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ST. PAUL BALLETLori Gleason has been involved in dance for almost 40 years as a student, performer, manager and creative. She trained as a young adult with Lorand and Anna Andaházy in St. Paul while pursuing a career in banking. After nine years she left finance to manage, promote and fundraise for the Andahazy Ballet Company until her tenure was cut short by the founder's untimely death. In 1989 she entered the advertising field and returned to school to study graphic design. Lori combined her business management skills with her years of experience from working in her family's display and parade float business throughout her teens and twenties to start her own business. She never strayed far from the ballet studio and applied her skills for local arts organizations. Owning her own business led her to move from a board director position to step in to guide the turn-around of SPB from debt to health over the last four years. In July 2015 Lori was appointed Executive Director. This new career utilizes the experience gained owning her strategic marketing and communications company for over 22 years with her background as an artist and her passion for dance. In this position she is responsible for the financial health and organizational management of 32 artists and staff. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with her extensive volunteer experiences in education and the arts have given her a proven ability to direct to a vision and mission, garner support, achieve consensus, manage large, complex workloads and deliver results in a wide variety of settings.
