The Denver Scholarship Foundation inspires and empowers Denver Public Schools’ students to enroll in and graduate from postsecondary institutions of higher education, by providing the tools, knowledge, and financial resources essential for success.
Lorii was the Executive Director of the start-up and viability phases of the Denver Center for Arts & Technology and served as the the organization's only full time staff member. Working alongside a highly engaged Board of Directors, other local stakeholders and the National Center for Arts & Technology team, Lorii guided fundraising, operations, partnership, site selection and strategy for the organization. The mission and framework for the organization were based on a combination of successes from the Manchester Bidwell Education Model, founded by Bill Strickland in Pittsburgh in 1968, and a local feasibility study, funded by the Denver Office of Economic Development. The feasibility study was conducted over 18 months with 120 local stakeholders in the City and County of Denver from 2014-2015; DCAT moved into planning in 2016. Focused on celebrating all people as assets and creating a beautiful environment to inspire success and fuel enterprise, DCAT proposed two different platforms for engagement:• Visual arts based education, after school, to high school students, most at risk of dropping out. • Industry-driven workforce training in middle skills, middle wage earning jobs to unemployed and underemployed adults 18+.

Rebound Solutions, a Colorado based business, harnesses the power of stakeholder input and, through collaborative conversation, strives to bring about transformative change and impactful community dividend. Lorii delivered a diverse background to the Rebound Solutions team and designed a suite of client offerings driven by these skills. As Sales Manager, Lorii additionally managed a team of Account Executives, monitored inventory, priced broadcast and digital assets and managed multi-million dollar budgets. The combination of these roles required great flexibility and willingness to teach, coach and think out of the box to problem solve. In addition to her management roles, Lorii was responsible for creation and execution of integrated strategies: conceptualizing and executing customized projects to include broadcast, interactive, community outreach, collateral materials and other multi-faceted implementations. Other skills include grant-writing and internal system development. In addition to other accomplishments, during her tenure Lorii developed and executed several grant funded educational programs involving multiple foundations, nonprofits and governmental entities throughout Colorado including Explore Colorado, Parents are the Power and Colorado School Grades. She additionally assisted in local launch of Colorado & Company, metromix.com and momslikeme.com and developed, coordinated and executed two Electronics Recycling Events.
