Welcome! I am a fully licensed clinical psychologist and doctoral level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). My undergrad degree was in Psychology and English from Western Michigan University, and my PhD in Clinical Psychology was earned at Wayne State University.I've been fortunate to work as a clinician, an administrator, and an educator, working with amazing professionals, clients, families, and students. For over two decades, I worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. I directed the Center for Human Development and the Ted Lindsay Foundation HOPE (Hands-On Parent Education) Center at Beaumont Children's from 2015 to 2022. Through Oakland University, I taught an introductory course about Applied Behavior Analysis through the Psychology department, and later co-taught 5-course sequence for graduate students seeking to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts.I am a full-time psychotherapist now, thrilled to offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a newer behavioral approach to therapy) for adults who want to live with more vitality and less suffering! I especially enjoy working with parents of children who have been diagnosed with autism or other developmental challenges, providing support and evidence-based strategies to reduce stress and live with joy and purpose. I also help my clients combat the addictive qualities of technology, to balance and use it mindfully. Many of my clients also struggle with body respect/appreciation and show disordered eating patterns, so I am actively learning more about the Intuitive Eating approach. I have recently accepted a position with the Michigan School of Psychology to teach a Behavioral Assessment course for students seeking certification as a Behavior Analyst. I am excited to begin teaching in higher education again after my wonderful experiences with Oakland University.
