I've worked on space-related projects of national importance, and on some of the most technically challenging ones during my 26 year career at Lockheed Martin. I thrive on making communication channels clearer and removing obstacles in order to move projects forward and drive execution faster. I have excelled at clarifying engineering communication for multiple projects between product owners and their stakeholders. I've done this as a Systems Engineer, Subcontract Program Manager and Deputy Product Manager. My expertise is in applying my problem solving skills to communicate and resolve issues across complex interfaces. I am an expert in requirements, verification and risk management. In each role, I resolved conflict and confusion through effective communication which reduced time to closure. I gather input from all stakeholders to make informed decisions, and document agreements clearly. I build relationships with my team and customer to make sure everyone has a voice throughout a project and no one is surprised by the decisions. As a Systems Engineering Manager, I lead a team of Systems Integrators. I am also passionate about empowering women and girls to excel in STEM fields and become better leaders. In 2013, I started a Lean In Circle for our Sunnyvale Women’s Impact Network which has transitioned to a Professional Development lead role and I have also served on the WIN Leadership Council at the corporate level since 2018. Our focus is on Recruiting, Retaining and Advancing women at Lockheed Martin. As a member of the Society of Women Engineers, I am currently on their Outreach Committee, have participated in outreach/mentoring events for middle school, high school and college girls, and been a speaker at their conferences. I am also a lead mentor for a FIRST Robotics team (FRC2813 Gear Heads) at the local high school which is also. SWENext club. The Techwomen program gives me an opportunity to mentor globally with emerging leaders from Africa, Middle East and Central Asia.
