ITHAKA is a not-for-profit organization that includes JSTOR, Artstor, Ithaka S+R, and Portico.JSTOR.org is a powerful research and teaching platform that provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, images, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. We collaborate with the academic community to help libraries connect students and faculty to vital content while lowering costs and increasing shelf space, provide independent researchers with free and low-cost access to scholarship, and help publishers reach new audiences and preserve their content for future generations.

My role as a UX Design Mentor includes:Providing motivational feedback and advice to students both in writing and via video calls on creating an industry-ready portfolio of project work in line with current standards and best practices.Crafting individualized video reviews of student work, highlighting creative successes and areas for improvement to showcase in-demand skills and design processes.Working closely with tutors to evaluate student work and give actionable suggestions to improve the quality of student submissions.Applying extensive industry experience to guide students on potential career paths within their field of study.

Leveraged a user-centered design process to create multi-channel experiences for customers. Collaborated with UX colleagues, product managers, brand partners, and IT teams to develop a full understanding of the Huntington customer journey. Led multiple projects in the digital portfolio while creating IA diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes that informed requirements discussions and supported usability testing.

I was responsible for research and UX/UI design of Crown’s next-generation warehouse management software. I created wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to share vision with key stakeholders. On a daily basis, I interfaced and worked closely with business analysts, project managers, information architects, engineers, developers, and executives to create cohesive user experiences.

As a Neighborhood Fellow, I was responsible for fostering student growth through community development, mentoring, and creative programming. I served as a resource for and liaison between my peers and the university.

I helped build a residential community through programming and event planning. I served as a mentor and a peer contact for students.

During my summer cooperative, I managed the redesign of the Joy brand by conducting research, writing and presenting the design brief to the Marketing Director and Brand Manager, obtaining approval and budget for the initiative, and providing vision and feedback to the design agency. Additionally, I created brand timelines for Dawn, Cascade, and Joy that will be utilized in brand guideline books and stored in the P&G Archives Center. I presented my final projects to design managers at the end of the term.

I worked with the Town of Normal Parks and Recreation Department for six summers. As an Aquatics Manager, I oversaw all operations at Anderson Aquatic Center and supervised over over a hundred employees. Additionally, I planned and executed inservice training and worked with the park district management team to ensure the safety of the public and enhance the customer experience.
