Lori Waters has over 35 years’ experience in exercise science as a business owner, educator, trainer, manager, international speaker, and published author. Her 20 years of work as an educator with orthopedic companies focused on biomechanics, sports medicine, and injury prevention and management. Informed on the latest research in human movement and function, she forged professional relationships with doctors, physical therapists, researchers, and engineers. She has designed educational programs for corporations, presented workshops, lectured to nursing and podiatry students, taught at community college and high school, and authored articles for trade journals and textbooks. As an exercise specialist, Lori has designed job-specific fitness programs for firefighters, developed employee wellness programs, trained personal trainers, and conducted extensive one-on-one training with clients of all ages and physical capabilities. Currently, she specializes in functional fitness training with mature clients, ranging from creating personalized programs for individuals to presenting preretirement workshops on healthy aging. Lori’s academic credentials include a BSc in the science of human movement (kinesiology) and a postgraduate degree in education. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, an ACSM-Certified Exercise Physiologist with an Exercise Is Medicine™ credential, and a Certified Functional Aging Specialist.
