After exploring a great career in financial software development, it was time for something new. My LinkedIn profile provides a detailed timeline of my career whereabouts over the past few decades. The timeline also includes my side projects and volunteer work. Consequently, it was time to step outside my comfort zone again.Now, imagine having the freedom to do whatever, whenever, wherever you wanted! Yep, I did just that!My husband and I made the decision to leave behind a comfortable life, a beautiful home, and familiar careers in the place where we both grew up. Why would we do this? Our answer was, Why Not? We wanted to get out of the habit of collecting objects and go into the practice of experiencing life around us. The lifestyle transformation was a real game-changer. ‘New Faces and New Places’ soon became our mantra. In our Subaru Forrester, we traveled the country from top to bottom and coast to coast. With the help of TrustedHouseSitters.com we were able to stay in beautiful places with wide open spaces! While we provided a valuable service of house and pet sitting, in return we were rewarded with fantastic accommodations. * As a side gig, we are now professional pet-sitters for folks who need to travel but can’t take their pets.After about two robust years of bouncing from place to place, state to state, we tallied our adventure into; 21 pet sits, 35 national parks, 11 national monuments, countless bodies of water, endless bike trails, and about 30,000 miles on our Subaru. Then the COVID-19 pandemic made ALL travel come to a screeching halt, for everyone, in the world. We then asked ourselves, now what? Settling in the midwest, our idle hands needed a project! In the spirit of trying new things, cannabis seemed like an obvious choice for the next exploration as more states bring on medical or adult use programs. We managed to settle in a rural town with two cannabis cultivations -- How convenient! Thus far, my positions in cannabis range in the ranks of compliance, cultivation, media, and retail. My work experience in cannabis provides new attributes for personal growth, compassion for fellow humans, and options for my own wellness.My dream job: advocate, educate, and elevate senior citizens in the realm of cannabis wellness. I want to break through to this underserved group full of nay-sayers and change their mind! My current mission is to de-stigmatize opinions about an ancient plant that provides relief to humans, animals, and the earth. It's never too late to change how you think, how you live, and how you feel!
