I was there. I worked in corporate America for almost 40 years. For much of that time I loved it. But, then as companies tightened their belts and laid off people, those of us who were left, were left with all the work, and with less people to handle it. This is when things got really stressful. I like to think of myself as a strong person, yet I became so overwhelmed I had my very first panic attack. I was embarrassed and beat myself up for being so "weak". And yet, I knew I had to honor what I was feeling and take care of myself.I was one of the luck ones. I had tools like my yoga and meditation practice to help me through. More importantly I had enough education in natural healing modalities to give me the courage to pay attention and take time to heal. And then I assessed my situation and decided I needed to make a change.Long story short, I learned to use my mediation practice to manifest the perfect job for me at the time. I had way less stress, I loved my new boss and team, and I thrived. I was able to contribute to the company while still having a life outside of work. My friends and family noticed a huge improvement in my outlook on life. They noticed that I was more compassionate and less quick to anger or frustration. After about five years, my position was eliminated and I was laid off. However I was asked to do my old job as an independent consultant. I had never wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I was loving that I could set my own schedule. During this time I dived into more and more natural healing science and information. I got my coaching certification from Chopra. And after a year, I decided I wanted to go full time serving women like me, when I felt overwhelmed with work; exhausted trying to do it all; feeling like there is no way out and I just had to put up with it.
