I successfully certified three dogs with Canine Therapy Corps (CTC) in Chicago and am currently working with them in CTC's animal assisted therapy and animal assisted activity programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago Children's Advocacy Center and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. In June of 2013, I was appointed Program Leader for Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Chicago where I assist CTC volunteers in meeting NMH prerequisites for new volunteers, develop a monthly calendar assigning dog teams to approved floors for visitations, maintain oral and written communication with CTC dog teams, NMH Volunteer Services and NMH Operations and Nursing Staff Management to share updates on patient visits, develop improvements for procedures, fulfill special patient request, and organize dog teams for NMH outreach events. In addition, I attend meetings and write articles for NMH newsletters to discuss growth opportunities and create canine comfort awareness with all hospital personnel. Show less
