Over 14 years of classroom experience, 2 years of instructional coaching at a district level, and 3 years in special programs. I have been an English teacher as well as reading specialist, interventionist, department head, instructional coach, and 504 coordinator. I have taught middle school and high school, mentored other teachers, led staff development meetings, written lesson plans, developed scope and sequence documents, administered universal screeners, presented data to the RtI campus committees as well as to school boards, and provided research-based interventions at various levels. Besides teaching and being an instructional leader, I have worked for Pearson and ETS scoring SAT's and certification exams. I have also had training through the Texas Adolescent Literacy Academy and the Dyslexia Intervention Program. Additionally, I have experience presenting at a summer conference for Region VI Service Center and leading PLC's as an instructional coach. As well as district-wide leadership experience, I have also had leadership roles in statewide measures, such as my role as team leader for reviewing instructional materials for Texas Resource Review. As a 504 coordinator, I am a strong advocate and creative problem solver.
