Senior role as HR and Learning & Development (L&D) lead for the business group, taking responsibility for ensuring HR and L&D operate effectively and support performance excellence and continuous improvement;Writing and implementing the people plan, in line with the business plan and corporate strategies, to ensure effective management and development of all staff to meet business objectives;Identifying learning and development needs through training needs analysis linked to the annual appraisal process, and through regular discussions with managers regarding emerging skills gaps;Developing and delivering in-house L&D solutions to maximise staff performance, including developing and running training sessions utilising internal resource, facilitating workshops and coaching managers;Procuring and managing external training providers to provide additional L&D activities where the knowledge is not available in-house, always considering value for money and return on investment;Interpreting results from the annual staff survey (‘Best Companies’) and translating them into actions to build team engagement and improve performance;Proactively supporting the corporate HR agenda through specific HR project work, including development of effective recruitment and selection processes, development of effective diversity and equalities policies, and development of an organisation wide competency framework;Direct and matrix management of teams of professional staff carrying out complex, challenging audit work across the Scottish public sector, producing high quality reports published on behalf of the Accounts Commission and the Auditor General for Scotland
