Lorne Darnell is an entrepreneur with a strong start-up background specializing in supply chain and logistics solutions for large, global manufacturers.Beginning his career at Ford Motor Company, Lorne focused on production control and materials operations, and later held various transportation and logistics positions before moving to Rockwell International as the Global Director of Logistics and Transportation.Lorne’s entrepreneurial background in logistics and supply chain began in the late eighties when he and MIT’s Dr. Yossi Sheffi co-founded LogiCorp, Inc., a Rockwell International company, that was one of the first independent non-asset logistics firm in the U.S. focused primarily on global manufacturing. Lorne served as President of LogiCorp, Inc., which he and Dr. Sheffi later acquired and operated as a private company. Ryder System Inc. acquired LogiCorp in the mid-nineties, with former CEO & Chairman Anthony Burns noting “It was the best acquisition we ever made” (Business Week). Lorne subsequently founded A3i, a supply chain data-integration company that specialized in real-time logistics optimization by providing its customers with complete systems integration via the web. A3i was acquired by publicly traded Landstar in 2009.Lorne also co-founded TLX, an IT centric supply chain support company, with partner and Detroit-based entrepreneur, John James Sr., Chairman and Founder of Renaissance Global Logistics (RGL). Lorne's latest venture, FreightVerify, is a company specializing in mobile tracking for large shippers that require enterprise-grade security, reliability, and scalability. He and FreightVerify co-founders are currently partnering with Covisint® and Cisco™ to offer expanded services associated with IOT (Internet of Things) initiatives.
