I have had more years in insurance than most young brokers have been alive. The benefit of that is to see how insurance has evolved and on the downside, I have seen the personal touch of a broker become diminished with the advent of 24/7 automation. My relationship with my companies and my clients has always driven me to be a better broker. My inquisitive nature and the power of WHY is what has made me a successful front line underwriter. I often found myself in a new job as the clean up crew for a neglected/damaged book of business. While this was challenging it was also also very rewarding to triage and bring to health a book that was now turning a profit. As I face the sunset years of my career, of which there are still many - I'm excited to see the younger generation pick up the baton and I'm excited to see more women in leadership.
