I develop and write best practice guidance documents for intergenerational work and develop and deliver various aspects of intergenerational training.

I am a Childcare Development Worker for Torbay LA and am based within the Torbay Early Years Advisory Team. As a Development Worker I train and support Registered Childminders in the Early Years Foundation Stage and also initiate and develop local projects for early years providers, linking them in to other community partners and then source funding from Trusts and Charities for projects to run.In 2017 I was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to research intergenerational co-located learning in the USA ie nurseries & school classrooms based within residential care homes.Please read my report here : https://www.wcmt.org.uk/fellows/reports/starting-young-lifelong-lessons-intergenerational-care-and-learningSince my return I have developed an intergenerational early years initiative in Torbay which pre-Covid had twenty care homes engaging in weekly visits from early years providers. In addition to intergenerational visitation programmes we have also developed a co-located intergenerational space within Warberries Nursing Home from which Childminders work on a daily basis (pre-Covid) supporting the children and older adults to engage together throughout the day. Despite currently being on hold this intergenerational programme was awarded the 2020 Inclusive Practice Award from Nursery World. I also tutor the online International Diploma/Certificate in Intergenerational Learning (ICIL/IDIL) course and speak at Conferences about the benefits of intergenerational learning.In 2019 I was commissioned by Yellow Door (Early Years Resources) to write an intergenerational activities book for early years and elder care practitioners.
