Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographics and current insurance information. Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals and authorizations. Obtain prior approvals from any HMO/PPO/FFS insurance companies for planned surgeries and radiology services. Present the necessary clinical information such as history, diagnosis, prognosis, and procedures codes. Review details and expectations about the referral with the patient. Ensure that all referrals and surgery orders are addressed in a timely manner. Answering high volume of calls and directing them appropriately. Data Entry. Confirm and schedule patient’s follow up and pre/post-op appointments. Coordinate surgeries directly with the physicians and patients. Ensure all outpatient radiology and surgery orders are faxed to the appropriate facility. Ensure all pre-op testing and medical clearances are completed. Experience with EMR (Nextgen Software).
