Private saxophone lessons at a scheduled time once a week. Lessons may include applied work on several or all of the following areas, depending on the student’s needs: scales and arpeggios, tone and technical exercises, etudes, repertoire and sight-reading.

Each lesson teaches students basic music theory through reading musical notation and rhythms. Every student has his or her own reasons for wanting to learn an instrument, therefore, every effort is made to focus on those ambitions. To that end, lessons are generally customized to meet the needs of each student while ensuring that the fundamental skills required to play the instrument are learned. The style of music offered is generally classical in nature, however other styles can be worked in. In order to have a goal to work towards and to learn to perform, students participate in small concerts at various times throughout the year.

This is an extra-curricular activity for all students. The group plays at school functions and is hoping to participate in local music festivals. Basic Goals for the group are to:- Instill in students a love for music- Help build their confidence and self-esteem- Help them achieve a degree of musical proficiency

Instrumental Band Teacher

This camp runs from the last Sunday in July through the first Friday in August every summer. As Director of the 2 week English Session, I am responsible for hiring professionals to teach private lessons and coach Chamber Music Ensembles and to teach our students about proper practising and playing techniques. I hire conductors who help students learn to succeed in a Concert Band, Jazz Band and Choir. It is also my responsibility to oversee the every-day running of the camp and to work closely with the camp's administrators. Overall I guarantee the safety and well-being of the students.
